Cory, a proud member of the United States Army Reserve and a hometown hero from Princeton, was serving in Kuwait when his unit came under an Iranian air attack. Cory survived, but tragically six of his comrades lost their lives. Cory was left severely wounded and now faces a very long and difficult road to recovery.

Cory serves as a Sergeant First Class and has dedicated nearly 20 years of service to defending the country he loves. Through multiple deployments, he has never hesitated to answer the call to serve and protect our nation. His bravery, dedication, and sacrifice are a true reflection of what it means to serve.

Cory’s wife, Shanyn, also serves our country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army Reserve. As both a soldier and a devoted wife, she is now preparing to travel to be by Cory’s side as he begins his recovery back in the United States. While there is nowhere else she would rather be, it also means time away from work and added financial strain for their family during an already overwhelming time.
