Hi everyone, my name is Emma Becker. My mom, Christine Becker, has recently undergone a horrible experience that will change the way she is able to live for the rest of her life. December 17th of 2025, she had a massive hemorrhagic stroke which is caused by bleeding on the brain. Since then, she stayed at the Vanderbilt Hospital for a month where they underwent a very intricate and massive surgery where they had to remove the left half of her skull due to the severe built-up pressure in her brain. She could not breathe without assistance, had a feeding tube, could not speak, could not move due to paralysis, could not open her eyes, etc. With time, she was able to get her breathing tube removed and is breathing on her own again and is just now starting to try thin liquids and easy food with a feeding peg still intact. She was just recently moved to a rehabilitation hospital in Nashville where she is beginning to start physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. We are so proud of her progression, but this is a long journey, and insurance will not cover everything. I am not one to like to ask for help, but I feel that now my family is at a place where I need to ask for it. The money you would donate would go towards medical bills, modifications that need done to the house once we get her home (months from now), basic necessities for my dad and I such as gas money with him traveling to Nashville and back every day, grocery money, and any progression we hope she will make through having to move her to another rehabilitation hospital with our insurance running thin. Thank you for any donations or contributions you offer as any little bit truly does help, and if you can't offer any money at this time, please take the time to share!
