Christina is a devoted single mother to her 16-year-old son, who is about to begin his senior year of high school. Her greatest joy has always been caring for her son and supporting him through every challenge. For 15 years, Christina has also brought comfort and healing to others as a licensed massage therapist. Helping people through the healing power of massage has given her so much joy, and her giving heart has touched everyone who knows her.


In 2022, Christina was diagnosed with kidney failure and is now in stage 5, with only 7% kidney function. Despite her strength and determination, her health has forced her to scale back her work, and now, with the need to switch to hemodialysis, she will have to stop working altogether. This has created a heavy financial burden, especially as she faces ongoing medical bills, travel for treatment, and the daily expenses of supporting her son during this critical time.


Christina is currently on two transplant lists at UAB and Ochsner, hoping for a life-saving kidney. She’s been called multiple times with the hope of a donor, only to have her hopes dashed at the last minute. The emotional toll of these near-misses is immense, but Christina continues to fight with courage and hope. The average wait time for a non-living donor is 3-5 years, but a living donor could make a world of difference for her.
