Standing with Chris Brick This Christmas Season

Donation protected
Chris Brick was responding to a call as a volunteer fireman in Grand Mound, Iowa, when he was involved in an accident. He was ejected from the side-by-side and sustained severe injuries to his face and head.

Chris was rushed to the University of Iowa Hospital, where he was stabilized and remains in the ICU. He is expected to undergo several surgeries to address the trauma he sustained to his face. He is currently intubated but conscious and responding to people around him. He uses a pen and paper to communicate, including asking if he was “Still Good Looking.” This confirms he still has his sharp sense of humor we know.

Due to his injuries, he will have to have his jaw wired shut. This will ensure we can all get a word in now when Chris is nearby. (Chris would like that joke). It’s unclear at this point how long he will be hospitalized, but they do know he will have several surgeries in the near future.

As a conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad, he will be off work for what could be a long timeframe during his recovery. With Christmas getting close and the resources Chris will need during this time, it’s easy to say his family will need help.

Chris is the type of person to offer to help anyone. He has a great family who over the years has endured their own troubles. They are once again going to need the help of others until he is healthy and can return to work.

Please consider them during this Christmas season, and any donations will be humbly appreciated by them.
