Hello, my name is Christy, and I have been a family friend to Renay and Chris (Joseph) Powell for several decades. They are very dear to me, so I am trying to help in any way I can.

Chris underwent a kidney transplant, and what was supposed to be a 3–4-day hospital stay has now reached over 3 weeks and counting. He had several complications and is going to need another surgery this week. After he is discharged from the hospital, he will need 24-hour care for a while and will have 3-4 medical appointments a week along with therapy. He has a long road of recovery ahead. The money raised will go towards gas and parking for his lovely wife to be at his side while in the hospital, rent and utilities since neither one of them are able to work at this time. They are waiting for FMLA assistance; however, this is a lengthy process and they need assistance now. Funds will also go to help cover medications, insurance deductibles, and co-pays. Anything helps and will relieve some stress so that Chris can relax and focus on healing and Renay can focus on supporting her husband during this difficult time.
