This is Chery Ming. She has been a part of our lives since she was born. She was like a daughter to us as a young girl. She was a fixture in our home for years. She even taught Gina to read. In 2001, at the age of 30, Cheryl suffered a massive brain stem stroke. She was a young mother with 2 children, a 6 year old and almost 1 year. Please watch the attached video. It is from 8 years ago. Nobody can tell her story better than Cheryl.
Cheryl pushed herself in recovery beyond EVERYONE'S expectations. She had to learn to speak and walk again. Everything we take for granted, Cheryl had to relearn. Recovery was not all she pushed for, she worked to make her future brighter while still severely disabled. She eventually earned a Master's Degree in Public Health.
Life has changed again for Cheryl though. While she made great strides in her recovery she was left with many permanent limitations. She has always been reliant on her wheelchair, only able to walk short distances. She is now losing ground. Her physical disabilities have made it where she is barely able to care for herself. Debilitating ailments make it so she can no longer work. Her disability benefits have been stopped due to a massive error and she has no income while she waits for the mess to be corrected. Her pharmacy bills are huge because of the medicines she must take to live since her stroke. She is close to being evicted from her home. Relocating isn't easy. She is wheelchair bound.
If you are able to donate to Cheryl it would be greatly appreciated. We know times are tough for so many but she truly needs help. A little goes a long way. Thank you taking the time to hear Cheryl's story.
