Our beloved pizza food truck partner at our 65th Street location has recently been diagnosed with multiple myeloma. Bier Brewery is committed to supporting him and his family and helping him keep his dream of owning and operating his own pizza business alive. Below is a message from Cesar:
Hi, my name is Cesar Acosta and I’m the owner of Solo Pizza, a food truck in Indianapolis that represents a dream I’ve been working toward for over 25 years. I’ve been making pizza since 1999, and for more than 15 years, I dreamed of opening my own place. After years of planning, saving, and hard work, that dream finally became reality when Solo Pizza officially opened in June 2024.
Shortly after reaching this milestone, my life took an unexpected turn. I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cells that affects the bone marrow. Scans revealed multiple areas throughout my body, including my ribs, hip, spine, and skull. I began treatment on December 22, 2025, and I am currently undergoing a weekly treatment regimen through the end of April, with the hope of reaching and staying in remission.
While I remain committed to fighting this disease and continuing to work when I can, the treatment comes with significant side effects, including severe fatigue, nausea, pain, muscle cramps, swelling, insomnia, dizziness, and shortness of breath. These symptoms make daily life and running a food truck much more challenging.
In addition to the physical toll, the financial burden has been overwhelming, not only from medical bills, but also from the strain on my business. Winter is the slowest season for food trucks, making it especially difficult to keep up. Looking ahead, I will need to be hospitalized for an entire month, which means I will be unable to operate my food truck during that time. The thought of being without income for a full month is extremely stressful, especially with ongoing day-to-day expenses, medical bills, and my company’s monthly bank payments.
Despite everything, I’m determined to keep moving forward. Solo Pizza is more than a business, it's my passion, my livelihood, and a symbol of not giving up, even when life throws unexpected challenges your way.
Any support, whether through a donation, sharing this page, visiting Bier Brewery (65th Street) on Wednesdays or Fridays to buy pizza, or simply keeping me in your thoughts, means more than I can express. Your kindness will help ease the financial strain, allow me to focus on treatment and healing, and help keep my dream alive during this difficult chapter.
