Hi, We are the children of Carlos Ayala, and we are fundraising for my father.

For the past three years, our father has been fighting dermatomyositis, a rare autoimmune disease that led to countless hospital stays and nearly took his life. After a long and painful journey, we were blessed when he received a life-saving lung transplant at Inova on December 19th.

While we are beyond grateful, recovery is overwhelming. My father now needs weekly medical visits, lifelong medications, and round-the-clock care. There are also future medications and treatments that may not be covered by insurance, creating ongoing financial strain.

We are asking for help to cover medical bills, medications, transportation, and basic living expenses during this critical time. Any donation, no matter the amount, will ease this burden and help my father focus on healing. If you’re unable to donate, sharing our story would mean the world to us.

Hola, somos los hijos de Carlos Ayala, y estamos recaudando fondos para nuestro padre.

Durante los últimos tres años, nuestro padre ha estado luchando contra la dermatomiositis, una enfermedad autoinmune poco común que le ha causado innumerables hospitalizaciones y estuvo a punto de costarle la vida. Después de un camino largo y doloroso, fuimos bendecidos cuando recibió un trasplante de pulmón que le salvó la vida en Inova el 19 de diciembre.

Aunque estamos profundamente agradecidos, la recuperación es algo muy difícil . Nuestro padre ahora necesita visitas médicas semanales, medicamentos de por vida y atención las 24 horas del día. Además, existen medicamentos y tratamientos futuros que podrían no estar cubiertos por el seguro, lo que genera una carga financiera constante.

Estamos pidiendo ayuda para cubrir facturas médicas, medicamentos, transporte y gastos básicos del hogar durante este momento tan crítico. Cualquier donación, sin importar la cantidad, ayudará a aliviar esta carga y permitirá que nuestro padre se concentre en su recuperación.
