Our family is facing something no one is ever prepared for.

My brother Scott’s son Calyn (Wilson) was diagnosed with testicular cancer in November. He has since had surgery for a teratoma tumor to be removed, but unfortunately this disease has metastasized, and he is currently being monitored and is set to start chemotherapy treatment for what is called NSGCT (nonseminomatous germ cell tumor) located in his retroperitoneal lymph nodes on January 12th. He is expected to need 3-4 rounds over the course of the next several months with constant labs, scans, fusions and many other appointments to monitor progress. Needless to say, our hearts are shattered. What should be a time focused entirely on healing and hope has become even more overwhelming because he did not have health insurance coverage in 2025. With the current expenses incurred for 2025 and even with upcoming insurance coverage (with a pre-existing condition) there are deductibles and maximums that will add up quickly and be an enormous financial burden.

Calyn has been incredibly strong and brave, facing each day with courage despite the fear and uncertainty, but we are optimistic that he will come out of this like a champ!

Scott, Andrea, Kaydan, Hannah, along with family and friends are doing everything they can to support him emotionally, physically and financially. We are asking for help so they can focus on what truly matters—his treatment, comfort, and recovery.
