Byron is someone who has always been there for his family — a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and veteran who has spent his life caring for others and putting his family first. Recently, Byron was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer. The cancer has spread to his stomach area and liver, with possible spots on his lungs. This has been an incredibly difficult and unexpected time for him and everyone who loves him. Byron is continuing to fight this with strength and determination. As he faces this battle, Shari and their family are by his side every step of the way, offering love, support, and strength. They are walking through an especially heavy season, as their son Dustin is also currently undergoing cancer treatment. Day by day, they are doing their best to stay strong, take things as they come, and hold on to hope. With ongoing treatments comes added strain — travel to appointments, medical-related expenses, and everyday living needs that don’t pause during times like this. While they do receive some assistance, it doesn’t fully cover the challenges that come with a diagnosis like this. More than anything, this is about giving them a little breathing room — easing some of the financial pressure so they can focus on what truly matters right now: continuing the fight, Byron’s care, his comfort, and time spent together as a family. We are trusting God through each step and taking things one day at a time. If you feel led to support Byron and Shari during this time, your kindness, prayers, and generosity would mean more than words can express. Thank you for taking the time to read their story, praying, and for standing with them during this time.
