Just days ago, Boston Crowell, a 2025 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and offensive lineman at Kent State University, was experiencing symptoms that seemed like they might require nothing more than a dental appointment. Instead, he was sent to the emergency room and then transferred to the cancer unit at Akron Children’s Hospital, where he was diagnosed with leukemia.
Boston was immediately started on blood transfusions and may require a bone marrow transplant, along with his chemotherapy. Beginning immediately, Boston will receive chemotherapy as he starts the fight ahead. He will be in the hospital for a minimum of 6 months with each chemo treatment lasting approximately 30 days at a time.
As Boston begins this journey, we want Chris and Sabrina to be able to focus on being by their son’s side and not worrying about the financial burden of missed work, travel to and from Akron, meals, and the many unexpected expenses that come with a long hospital stay.
If you know the Crowell family, you know their faith in God is unwavering. They believe deeply in the power of prayer, and we ask that you continue to lift Boston, Chris, Sabrina, Brooklyn, Madison and their entire family up in prayer.
If you feel led to give, any donation—big or small—will help ease the financial burden and allow the Crowell family to focus on what matters most: Boston’s treatment and recovery.
