Hello friends, family, and compassionate supporters,

My name is Stephanie, and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Bobby and Abby, and their three young children. This is not an easy message to write, but their family is facing an overwhelming medical crisis, and they truly cannot walk this road alone.

What’s happening

Bobby was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease in 1999. He went into kidney failure and on dialysis in 2009, then luckily received a living donor from his sister-in-law. Earlier this year, Bobby was told he was going into liver failure now, due to his PKD. Last month, November, he was removed from the liver transplant list due to finding urgent and unexpected heart complications. He is now scheduled for a quintuple bypass surgery on December 10th at Nebraska Medical Center. This major surgery requires stopping his heart while surgeons graft five new vessels, and his doctors expect a long, difficult recovery that could take months.

Only after he heals from this open-heart surgery can he be considered again for the liver transplant he desperately needs.

How this is impacting their family

Abby and Bobby have six kids total, three young children still at home, and despite everything happening behind the scenes, life for their kids keeps moving. Abby is doing her best to care for Bobby, manage hospital visits, and keep the kids active, supported, and feeling secure at a time when nothing feels normal.

The emotional, physical, and financial weight on this family is enormous.

Why I’m asking for help on their behalf

This season has brought sudden and heavy expenses that they cannot manage alone. Your generosity will help cover:

    •    Childcare and stability for their three children

    •    Essential daily living needs like groceries, etc. while their world is at a standstill
