Our family is experiencing some big life changes lately, and we want to tell you all about it.

On April 28, Bill had a second sudden-death arrhythmia during a scheduled stress test. He became “pulseless” for 1.5 minutes and was in the hospital for several days before he was released. Since then, he has shown signs of slowing down from his usual driven and energetic self.

Tuesday morning (May 12), his doctors called and told him to come back to the hospital in Portland. During a right cath procedure, he again became "pulseless" in the operating room. His heart just stopped, but they brought him back.

Bill has been admitted for full-time care in the cardiac ICU at Providence St. Vincent in Portland. He has been moved to Stage 3 for a heart transplant.

A transplant is now urgent and imminent. He will be at Providence St. Vincent until he gets a new heart — which could be any time or months.

We cherish your prayers and good thoughts for Bill and our family. We are taking life one day at a time.

People have asked how they can help. We would appreciate help financially while we navigate this storm. We have extra expenses due to travel and meals and lack of income. We deeply appreciate any help that allows us to focus on Bill and his care.
