Help Support Betty Jackson During Cancer Treatment

Hi everyone, I never thought I would be writing something like this, but here we are. With my mom’s permission, I am starting this GoFundMe to help her during her cancer treatment.

What we thought were severe allergies turned into something much more. After multiple doctor visits, steroids, and nasal sprays with no relief, we pushed for a second opinion. An ENT specialist ordered scans, and that’s when they found a tumor. It had also started affecting the vision in her right eye.

We recently received the pathology report from the biopsy and it’s confirmed that she has been diagnosed with Stage 3 squamous cell carcinoma. She will be starting treatment soon, which will include radiation and chemotherapy 5 days a week for 7 weeks. Because of the frequency of treatment and the side effects she is expected to have, she will not be able to work during this time. She has applied for short-term disability, but there will be a waiting period before that begins.

We are asking for help to cover:

• Transportation to and from treatments

• Co-pays and medical expenses

• Everyday bills while she is unable to work

• Possible lodging in Dallas during treatment
