Our sweet 11-month-old grandson, Benjamin, has just begun a 19-week chemotherapy journey after being diagnosed with Wilms tumor associated with WAGR syndrome.
At only 11 months old, Benjamin should be learning to take steps and say his first words — instead, he is bravely starting chemo treatments. After chemotherapy, he will undergo surgery that will require at least a 5-day hospital stay.
WAGR syndrome is a rare genetic condition that already places him at higher risk for kidney cancer. Now our family is focused on helping Benjamin fight this battle with everything we have.
The next several months will include:
• 19 weeks of chemotherapy
• Frequent hospital and oncology visits
• A major surgery and hospital stay
• Ongoing monitoring and follow-up care
As you can imagine, this brings emotional and financial strain — time away from work, travel to appointments, medical expenses, and the everyday costs that don’t stop during a medical crisis.
We are asking for support to help ease that burden so his parents can focus completely on what matters most — their baby boy.
During this time, the family may not be able to respond to calls or texts right away as they focus on Benjamin’s care. Please know how much your prayers, love, and support mean to all of us.
If you are able to donate or share this page, our family is deeply grateful. Benjamin is already showing us what true strength looks like.
Thank you for loving and supporting our brave little fighter.
Vicki
