Standing with Ben

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that our beloved friend and member of the Living Hope Church family, Ben Hutabarat, has recently been diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC). Doctors have discovered a tumor in his lung, positioned near a main artery close to his heart, making surgery inoperable.

Due to the delicate and critical nature of his diagnosis, Ben will begin an intensive treatment journey starting Monday, February 17, undergoing both chemotherapy and radiotherapy simultaneously. This is an incredibly challenging road ahead, but we stand in faith, believing in God’s healing power for Ben.

Alongside this battle, however, come significant financial challenges. The overwhelming cost of ongoing treatment and basic living expenses for Ben has and will continue to be affected for some time as Ben is unable to work .

Ben’s physical family may be back in his home country of Indonesia but It is through the hope of this initiative that his spiritual family, friends and the wider public may be able to bless him, show him love and support, and alleviate the financial burden associated with this on going treatment.

Ben has been serving faithfully for years, not only in Living Hope Camperdown but also with GBI Worship Punchbowl, GBI Filadelfia, Omega Church Blacktown and House of Light Ministries Blacktown to name a few. He is not only a talented musician and worship team leader but his passion for God and the community, has seen him volunteer tirelessly in outreach programs locally and in remote locations to uplift vulnerable people.
