Becky needs our help! This January, Becky’s life took a sudden and devastating turn. What began as pneumonia quickly became a life-threatening blood infection that nearly took her from us. In a matter of days, her world—and the world of everyone who loves her—was turned upside down. The infection caused her kidneys to shut down, and she now depends on dialysis three times a week just to survive. As if that wasn’t enough, Becky was also diagnosed with breast cancer and is bravely undergoing treatment while still fighting to regain her strength.
Becky is so much more than a patient—she is a daughter, a friend, and a familiar, smiling face to so many. For over 30 years, she has been a dedicated employee at Safeway in Centennial, where her humor, warmth, and strong work ethic have touched countless coworkers and customers. If you’ve ever shared a laugh with Becky in the checkout line, you know how special she is. Right now, that light is deeply missed.
Recently, Becky’s family received heartbreaking news: her insurance will no longer cover her stay in the care facility, despite the fact that she is still not mobile. She will be coming home to live with her 80-year-old parents, who love her dearly but are now faced with the overwhelming reality of caring for her without the support she still so desperately needs. Becky cannot yet walk, and her home will require ADA modifications to make it safe for her. She will also need consistent transportation to dialysis and physical therapy appointments multiple times each week—something her parents cannot manage alone.
This is an incredibly difficult and uncertain time for Becky and her family. They are doing everything they can to stay strong, but they cannot do this alone. We are asking for your help—whether through a donation, a share, or simply keeping Becky in your thoughts and prayers. Your support will go directly toward making her home accessible, covering medical-related expenses, and ensuring she can get to the life-sustaining treatments she needs.
Becky has spent decades showing up for her community with kindness and heart. Now, she needs us to show up for her.
