Hi, my name is Becky I am a grandmother, a mother, a sister, and a friend to anyone in need. I never imagined I would be in a position to ask for help like this.
I was recently diagnosed with a rare and serious condition—an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) located in my medulla, a very delicate and critical part of the brain. This has been overwhelming and life-changing, and I am now potentially facing an upcoming brain surgery or radiation to the area of the brain that controls my ability to breathe and use the left side of my body that I need in order to move forward safely.
I live in Jellico, Tennessee, and have been traveling back and forth to Nashville to receive care from vascular neurosurgeons who are not available in Knoxville. These trips are necessary, but they come with significant travel expenses, and there will be many more as I continue treatment.
Because of my condition, my work hours have been cut, making it difficult to keep up with everyday bills. I also do not have health insurance, thankfully, I am on an assistance program through Vanderbilt, but I have also received treatment at local facilities, and those bills are starting to come in.
As hard as it is for me to ask, I truly need help during this time. Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward my medical expenses, travel, and basic living costs while I focus on my health and recovery.
If you are not able to give, I completely understand—sharing this or keeping me in your thoughts and prayers means just as much.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, support, and generosity.
