Hello everyone,

I’m starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my daughter and her family. With heavy hearts, she went into preterm labor and had to deliver her baby boy, RJ, at just 23 weeks weighing only 1lb 9oz. Because he arrived so early, he is very fragile and will need to remain in the NICU for up to four months while he continues to grow stronger.

My daughter was in her final year of completing her bachelor’s degree and, at this time, she is not working. Her husband is currently the only financial provider for their family. With the unexpected early arrival of baby RJ, they will be spending most of their days and nights at the NICU by his side, focusing all their love and energy on their little boy during this critical time.

As a family, we are coming together to support them and help ease some of the financial stress that comes with such a long and emotional journey. Between time away from work, travel back and forth to the hospital, meals, and other unexpected expenses, the burdens can quickly add up. Our hope is to lift some of that weight so they can focus on what matters most — being there for their son.

One thing we know for sure is that baby RJ is a true warrior. Even at only 1 pound, he is fighting so hard to live. The doctors and nurses continue to be amazed by his strength and determination. While we know there may still be many challenges ahead, every single day with him is a miracle and we are taking things one day at a time.

We created this account to help support Mom and Dad so they can focus fully on loving and caring for their son without the added stress of financial worries during this difficult time.
