It is with a heavy heart that we, the Martinez Family, are reaching out to our family, friends, and compassionate strangers to help raise funds necessary to help Mr. Augie Martinez (Augie’s Dad), also known as Big Augie, with funeral and medical expenses. Mr. Martinez sadly passed away Sunday March 8, 2026 after a recent cancer diagnosis.
In 2014, Mr. Martinez was given the gift of life by receiving a liver transplant. Receiving this life-saving gift has allowed him to live an active life. He was a reliable and trustworthy employee of Taco Bell, where he proudly worked every day. When he wasn’t working, his favorite pastime was watching his granddaughters play softball.
Recently, Mr. Martinez was diagnosed with Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia. It is a rare type of lymphoma, a cancer of the immune system, which has caused his body to reject his liver, and is now causing him to experience heart failure.
With medical expenses looming and now funeral costs at a premium before any insurance coverage, the weight of this burden is unbearable for Mr. Martinez's family.
In this time of mourning, your kindness and compassion is a lifeline to our family as we provide final arrangements for Mr. Martinez. Every donation, no matter the size, will bring us one step closer to ensuring that Augie is peacefully laid to rest. Thank you for standing with us and showing your love and support during this profoundly difficult time.
Sincerely,
Augie & Christine Martinez and Family
