Standing with Ashley Ward in Her Cancer Journey

Ashley Ward - mother, wife, friend and cancer warrior.

Friends,

Many of you may know Ashley and her family. If you have been blessed to know them, you also know they will give you the shirt off their back to help anyone in need while never asking for help themselves.

When Ashley was 11 years old she was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
At that time, she underwent chemotherapy and radiation to place her in remission.

In 2019, her journey took another turn when she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. At that time, she underwent surgery to remove the cancer as the previous radiation treatments had placed her in heart failure.

In December 2023, she underwent spine surgery to remove a schwannoma tumor. This has been monitored since then, but on November 25, 2025 another surgery was performed. Pathology revealed "high-grade malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor."

On December 12th, 2025 she was back in the operating room to remove as much of the sheath, muscle, some bone and surrounding tissue as possible without causing damage to the rest of her body, as she has had 12 surgeries to date.

The plan now is additional imaging, PET scans and radiation. The radiation schedule will likely be 5 days a week for a total of 6 weeks.

This type of tumor does have a higher probability of coming back and while we are working on opinions with other hospitals... Duke, Mayo, MD Anderson - time is of the essence.

Ashley's husband, Wayne, has been by her side during all of this and has been out of work with FMLA. Unfortunately, time off is there - but the paycheck isn't. Ashley is also out of work. They have three precious children, Allie-13, Waylon-12 and Addisyn-3.

Ashley has only asked for prayers, but has very humbly accepted a gofundme account.

If you feel led to donate to their journey, please know that no amount is too small, and every penny of funds raised will go directly in support of Ashley, her cancer treatments and their family.

There is no one more resilient than this family. They both work tirelessly to serve our community in their work, but it is now our turn to be able to help them.

With love and appreciation,

Jennifer Triplett
