Hi, my name is Selina, and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my stepmother, April, who is currently in the ICU at Vanderbilt. April is not just my stepmom, she is a huge part of my life and our family’s foundation. She helped raise me and my sister alongside her own son, and she has always shown up with love, patience, and strength for the people around her. Anyone who knows April knows how deeply she cares for her family and how much heart she brings into everything she does.

Over the past months, April has been facing an incredibly difficult and frightening medical journey. After countless doctor visits, tests, and hospital stays, her condition has worsened to the point that she is now in intensive care. Doctors are currently evaluating her for a possible life-saving liver transplant. This has been overwhelming for April and for our entire family as we try to process the uncertainty while staying hopeful for the future.

Throughout this journey, April has shown incredible resilience and determination. She has remained committed to her medical care and has been surrounded by an amazing support system every step of the way. Our family has been present for appointments, hospital stays, and daily needs, and her son has even taken medical leave from work to be nearby and provide extra support during this critical time. No matter what lies ahead, April will not be facing it alone.

We started this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden that comes with long hospital stays, specialized care, medications, travel, and recovery expenses, costs that quickly add up and are not fully covered by insurance.
