There are certain people who come into your life and, somewhere along the way, become part of who you are. For me, that person is Anja. For nearly 20 years, I’ve been lucky enough to call her my best friend. We’ve shared so many different chapters of life, growing, changing, laughing, and navigating whatever life has brought our way. Through it all, Anja has been one of my constants.

She’s the kind of friend you can talk to about absolutely anything. The kind who makes you feel heard and understood without ever having to explain too much. The kind who shows up, quietly and genuinely, simply because that’s who she is. She’s been there for me through so many seasons of my life, and I wish more than anything that I could make this chapter of hers a little easier.

Anja is also a devoted wife and a loving mother to three beautiful young children. Her family is her world, and right now, they are navigating something no family should have to face. For the past 5 months, Anja and her family have been facing an incredibly difficult journey.

Anja has been suddenly diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. She underwent surgery shortly after and just recently completed her first round of chemotherapy, but unfortunately, the results were not what everyone had hoped and prayed for. Liver metastasis has grown

and will need to be surgically removed. In just a couple of weeks, she is scheduled to undergo a second surgery, and depending on the outcome of the surgery, she may require a second round of chemotherapy.

As you can imagine, this journey has brought enormous emotional, physical, and financial challenges, not only for Anja but for her husband and their three children.

While we cannot take away the challenges of her diagnosis, we can come together to help lighten the burden she and her family are carrying.

I’m starting this fundraiser in the hope that we can come together to ease some of the financial pressure they’re facing. Donations will help with medical treatments, surgery-related expenses, medications, lost income, and the everyday costs of caring for a family of five.

My hope is that by easing some of these financial worries, Anja can focus on her treatment, recovery, and spending meaningful time with her family.
