Standing with Angela: A Journey of Support

Story

Angela, like many facing this battle, has the unfortunate reality of balancing her well-being with the demands of work, family, and daily life. Breast cancer, and any cancer for that matter, takes a significant toll - physically, emotionally, and spiritually. As much as doctors can guide the way, there are inevitable questions that linger, like "why?". I share Angela's story from a place of understanding and empathy. As a two-time breast cancer survivor myself, diagnosed in my 20s, I've walked a similar path and understand the emotional rollercoaster that comes with it. Please remember, every single act of support, no matter how big or small, can make a world of difference in Angela's journey. Here's Angela's message: My name is Angela Yancy Jimenea and I'm a single mom of two incredible daughters. My eldest is pursuing her dreams at The University of Texas in Austin, and my youngest is a high school senior about to embark on her own exciting journey. This platform was created with them in mind, as I recently received a diagnosis of invasive breast cancer. While I'm continuing to work as a dental hygienist, the demanding side effects of this disease have forced me to transition from full-time to part-time. I'm facing a mastectomy soon, and my doctors will be removing lymph nodes to assess the spread of the cancer. While the recovery from the surgery is estimated at four to six weeks, further treatments like radiation and chemotherapy are a possibility. This, unfortunately, could significantly impact my ability to work due to the time commitment and potential side effects. My deepest hope is to raise enough funds to cover my living expenses, bills, and care for my daughters during this challenging time. Over the last decade, I've faced numerous obstacles, and I'm determined to stay positive throughout this journey. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Any contribution, big or small, will make a world of difference for my family and me. Thank you for taking the time to read our story. We appreciate your compassion and support.
