Standing with Amber: Support for Homeschooling and Family

On March 8th, Amber Shoemake’s world changed forever when her husband, Timmy Shoemake, passed away unexpectedly. Timmy was the sole provider for their family, and his greatest desire was for Amber to remain at home, dedicating her time to homeschooling their two children, Logan (10) and Lana (8).

Through this heartbreaking loss, one thing remains certain — God is faithful. Amber and her children are leaning on His strength, trusting that He will continue to provide for their every need. It has been Amber’s prayer to honor Timmy’s wishes and keep their children in the loving, faith-filled homeschool environment they know and cherish.

In the days since Timmy’s passing, one of Lana’s biggest concerns has been whether she would have to go to public school and if her mom would have to get a job. Timmy’s desire was clear — that Amber would continue to nurture and educate their children at home, providing them with stability and comfort.

This fund has been created to honor that desire and offer Amber the financial support needed to continue homeschooling without the immediate burden of financial uncertainty. Donations will be used for:

• Curriculum and educational materials to provide a well-rounded, faith-centered education.

• Extracurricular activities like sports, music, and art, encouraging Logan and Lana to pursue their passions.

• Field trips and learning experiences to bring their education to life through hands-on learning.

• Tutors or specialized support if additional resources are needed.

• Emergency fund support to cover unexpected expenses that may arise in the years ahead.

We have set a goal of $125,000 to support Amber in educating her children through their remaining school years. Every contribution, no matter the size, is a blessing that will bring comfort and security to this family.

Any funds that go above and beyond the children’s yearly homeschool expenses will be applied toward their educational futures. Whether Logan and Lana choose to attend college, trade school, or pursue other educational opportunities, these funds will ensure they have the support needed to follow their dreams — a gift Timmy would have wanted for them.
