Amanda Cain's family are reaching out for support during a very difficult time.

Amanda has been a beloved teacher at Northern Middle School for the past 12 years, touching the lives of countless students and families. After a minor procedure just before Thanksgiving, she developed severe pancreatitis, was admitted to the ICU but worsened and was then air lifted to The University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. She has remained hospitalized since and has endured many emergency surgeries and procedures since November 2025. Amanda is currently still hospitalized in Baltimore and when discharged, will need extensive rehabilitaion before coming home.

Amanda has now exhausted her leave, and her family is facing the burden of covering her insurance while also missing her paycheck. In addition, they have incurred significant travel expenses going back and forth from Southern Maryland to Baltimore to be by her side.
