Hello,
My name is Jalissa Brown, also go by my middle name Lea.
On the night of December 19th, one of my long-time friends, practically sister, Aliceison Brown, was caught and burned in their house fire while attempting to put it out. She is currently being treated in Cleveland for burns as I type this, as her father, the homeowner, has provided me permission in creating this.
Back in July of 2018, while others were celebrating this country’s independence, Aliceison had to face dealing with their childhood home being burnt to the ground, all while a close family member of hers was incarcerated for something they didn’t do. Despite all things, Aliceison not only completed her bachelor’s degree in Political Science at St. Leo University on time, but she also navigated the trials and tribulations of losing her foundation that was her home and COVID causing the world to pause. She still pursued her education journey to complete her MA in International Business while away in San Francisco.
Aliceison is many things — from being a passionate yet empathetic scholar to being stylish and charismatic. To know Aliceison is to love her. She’s far from a quitter.
We are simply asking at this time for any support to her, covering for medical costs and helping her family rebuild their home again. We are also collecting any donations for items such as blankets, clothes, shoes, etc. Feel free to reach out with any questions or offers of assistance. I thank anyone at this time even for sharing their story.
