Standing With the People Who Help Feed Our Families
We are coworkers and friends of Alexandro Rivera and Martir Zambrano Diaz, and we are organizing this fundraiser to support them and their families during an incredibly difficult and uncertain time.
On February 4, 2026, Alexandro and Martir were unexpectedly detained and are currently still being held. Both men have lived in the United States for more than 20 years, where they have built their lives, raised families, and contributed every day through hard, essential work.
For those of us who know them personally, Alexandro and Martir are more than coworkers. They are leaders, mentors, and friends. For the broader community, they are part of the workforce that helps put food on our tables.
These are the people who work long days in all conditions to grow and harvest the food and wine we enjoy. Their labor helps sustain local agriculture and, in a very real way, helps feed our families.
About Alexandro Rivera
Alexandro Rivera has worked at Pindar Vineyards since 2023, where he serves as our Vineyard Foreman. In this role, Alexandro manages vineyard crews, operates heavy machinery including tractors and grape harvesters, and works closely with management to keep daily operations running safely and efficiently.
Alexandro is dependable, calm under pressure, and deeply committed to his work. He leads by example and treats everyone with respect. His absence has been felt not only by his coworkers, but across the entire operation that relies on his leadership.
About Martir Zambrano Diaz
Martir Zambrano Diaz has worked at Pindar Vineyards for 23 years. Over more than two decades, he has been a steady and trusted presence in the vineyard.
Martir is known for his kindness, strong work ethic, and positive attitude. He shows up every day ready to work and help wherever he is needed. Many of us consider him family, and his long-term dedication reflects the importance of experienced agricultural workers in keeping farms running.
Why We Are Asking for Help
Both Alexandro and Martir have families who rely on them. Their detention has created sudden financial and emotional hardship for their loved ones, who are now facing uncertainty and loss of income.
Funds raised through this GoFundMe will go directly to helping their families with:
Basic living expenses such as rent, utilities, food, and transportation
Immigration and legal attorney fees
Bond-related costs
Essential family needs during this difficult time
Why This Matters
Agricultural workers like Alexandro and Martir are often unseen, yet their work is essential. They help grow, harvest, and deliver the products that end up in our homes and on our tables. They are the people who help feed our families, and their contributions matter.
Now, the families of these workers need help from the same community they have supported through their labor for decades.
How You Can Help
If you are able, please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps ease the burden on their families during this time.
Thank you for standing with Alexandro Rivera, Martir Zambrano Diaz, and the families of the people who help feed our communities.
This Fundraiser has been made with Permission from Both Families
