Adalyn “Addie” Showers is a vibrant, brave 12-year-old girl with a heart as big as her smile. She loves deeply, laughs freely, and brings light to everyone who knows her. Despite everything she’s faced, Addie chooses joy every single day.
Addie was born with a rare condition called VACTERL, which has brought more medical challenges into her life than most people face in a lifetime. Over the past 12 years, she has endured more than 80 surgeries and countless hospital stays. Through it all, God has been faithful, and many obstacles have been overcome. But as Addie grows, new challenges continue to arise.
The most pressing concern right now is her spine. Addie was born with a Schmorl’s node, which first revealed itself about a year ago when she temporarily lost feeling in her legs—a terrifying moment for any parent. Since then, her condition has progressed, and she is now facing corrective medical interventions.
Her journey ahead includes ongoing physical therapy, a likely external brace to help correct her spine, and, if necessary, spinal surgery as a last resort. While we will do everything possible to support Addie medically and emotionally, the financial burden of ongoing care and treatment is significant.
We have created this GoFundMe to help carry some of that weight. Any contribution—big or small—means more than words can express. If you’re unable to give, sharing this page and keeping Addie in your prayers is just as meaningful.
Thank you for walking alongside our family as we help Addie navigate this next chapter with strength, faith, and hope.
