Help a Brave Little Girl and Her Family Through the Fight of Their Lives
A beautiful one-year-old girl has just been diagnosed with a brain tumour, turning her family’s world upside down in an instant. What began as worry and uncertainty has quickly become every parent’s worst nightmare. After months of concern, her family now faces the heartbreaking reality that she was misdiagnosed and fobbed off for the past five months before the tumour was finally discovered.
Doctors have identified a large tumour measuring approximately 4.4 x 4.1 x 4.3 cm, located on her brain stem — one of the most critical and delicate areas of the brain. This makes her condition especially serious and complex. Her condition has been graded as potentially a stage 4, however the exact stage and type of brain cancer is still unknown and will only be confirmed following surgery.
She has been urgently transferred from Townsville to Brisbane, where surgery is scheduled for this Friday. From there, doctors will determine the full treatment plan.
Right now, her family is facing months ahead filled with uncertainty — waiting for answers, navigating treatment, and hoping for the best possible outcome for their little girl. At home, two young siblings — a 7-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl — are trying to understand why their baby sister is suddenly gone and why everything feels so different. This family is doing their best to stay strong for all three of their children while facing unimaginable emotional and financial pressure.
To be by his daughter’s side during this critical time, Dad has had to step away from work for the foreseeable future. While their focus is entirely on their little girl, the reality is that bills don’t stop — and they are now facing the added stress of keeping a roof over their heads and covering everyday living expenses. As they focus on being by their baby girl’s side, everyday burdens continue to build — travel to Brisbane, accommodation, time away from work, and caring for their children back home.
This fundraiser has been created by Mum and Dad’s sister, with their full knowledge and consent, to help support them through this incredibly difficult time. All funds raised will go directly toward helping Matt and Jolene continue to cover rent, bills, and essential living costs while Matt is unable to work and the family remains by Bub’s side in Brisbane as she fights this battle.
The family has chosen to maintain some privacy during this time, but they are deeply grateful for the love and support being shown to them. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference — allowing them to focus on what truly matters: their little girl’s fight and keeping their family together through this incredibly challenging time.
