“ cancer you never know how it’s going to effect your life”
One day you wake up and your life is no longer what it used to be and you feel like you’ve lost complete control over what’s happening to you and your body .
Im a trauma nurse and I love saving ,and helping taking care of others so I’m so blessed that I get to wake up every day and do this for a living .It’s definitely a shock when the table turns and now you’re the patient and depending on others to save you and take care of you . So this is how my personal cancer journey goes :
I went to work one day and my right arm started hurting all the way down to my finger tips .I must say it was worse pain I ever felt. Thought I possibly pulled a muscle or pinched a nerve or something ,But as the shift went on the pain got so much worse it became unbearable and I finally gave in and I went to the ER after my shift was over and had some blood test done ,and some radiology test performed and was told that I needed to be checked by an oncologist for cancer because my test weren’t good . I was like oh wow !what ok !! So long story short my arm and hand continued hurting for another week while I tried to set up drs appointments because unknown to me I had 2 tumors pushing on my nerves. Causing pain in my armpit and arm.Well 4 weeks and after more doctors appointments and more radiology testing ,and blood test and now my tumors have grown 3cm more in a week I was immediately admitted into the hospital and have been here for 9 days now and have 7 tumors now which are growing rapidly .Had a biopsy done found out I had necrosis around my node because they are growing rapidly .So now I have surgery set up (12/30/25) to remove some nodes in my armpit so some test can be performed by the pathologist. So this is how I’m spending my holidays and as for those that truly know me knows I absolutely love the holidays specially, this time of the year and love being with family and wrapping presents and being surrounded by all the Christmas smells , and lights and decorations.I missed all that this year . I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day laying in this hospital bed while they ran biopsies and more test on me trying do all they can to help me and now it looks like I will be here New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day in this hospital room and bed and starting on whatever treatments the doctors decide to start me on which my drs are leaning more towards immunotherapy, medication and surgery.I can handle being stuck in the hospital for many holidays,But New Year’s Eve is my absolute favorite holiday because you get to dress up spend time with your friends and family, laughing ,dancing and celebrating, and take all the horrible things life has thrown at you (cancer)the previous year and put it behind you and you get to look forward to the year ahead of you and all the wonderful things it has to offer and it looks like I’m gonna be staring out this big bay window in my hospital room looking at the beautiful fireworks and hearing the amazing music while everybody’s out there dancing and celebrating the new year with friends and loved ones and I will be sitting here not knowing my next steps to treatment and everyone that knows me knows that I’m the type of girl that will actually put my New Year’s Eve gown on that I preordered months ago lol and stand at the bay window in my room in the hospital and watch the fireworks and celebrate with all the people as they celebrate down below ! I am a fighter and I will not give up fighting until I have no more fight in me . This is my story. I choose how my journey ends and I don’t give up easily!
As for the gofundme:
People that know me no I never asked for a hand out or ask for help . I don’t like putting my worries on others ,but I’m reaching out today because i feel like I’ve done all I can on my own because I am stuck in this hospital and I’ve been here awhile now which is affecting my paycheck and as we all know bills gotta get paid ,it’s the last thing we as patients already struggling through cancer is to have the added stress or worry about bills when we’re in the hospital sick and trying to give our all to fight this disease. I believe we’re here on earth to help other people out and to touch other people‘s lives in a positive way and to let them know that they’re not alone through this thing we call life. This is why I became a nurse this is why I have devoted 28 years of my life to being in the medical field, so I can help someone out every day that means with a simple smile or to sit by their bed and hold their hand when they’re alone and scared and going through something traumatic.Or being there for a family member when they lost somebody or got sad new about someone they love dearly. Or just being an open ear so they have someone that will listen to them when they feel like they’re alone.
For these things I wanna continue to live so I can continue to touch peoples lives in a positive way .
i will fight this disease we call cancer and I will win !! Thank you to those who choose to donate. Thank you so much for you help !!
