Our names are Jordon and Jocelan, and we’re reaching out during one of the hardest moments of our lives.
On December 19th, we were involved in a serious car-versus-semi accident that changed everything in an instant. The impact was severe — our car was completely totaled — and while we are incredibly grateful to be alive, the aftermath has been overwhelming.
Jordon suffered a broken sternum, causing significant pain and limiting his ability to work and move normally. Both of us also re-injured our spines, including herniated discs, bringing back chronic pain and mobility challenges we had previously worked hard to manage.
In the midst of this, Jocelan has been caring for Jordon day to day — helping with basic needs, appointments, and recovery — while also navigating serious pain and limitations of her own. We’re doing our best to support each other, but it’s been physically, emotionally, and financially exhausting.
Since the accident, the financial strain has grown quickly. Between emergency medical care, follow-up appointments, imaging, medications, ongoing spine treatment, lost income during recovery, and the sudden loss of our vehicle, the costs have added up faster than we could have anticipated.
Asking for help is not something that comes easily to us. Over the years, we’ve tried to show up for our community — participating in community clean-up projects, helping people experiencing homelessness, and supporting addicts in finding resources, because we’ve been in those shoes ourselves and we know how much it matters when someone shows up.
Accepting help now is humbling, but we’re learning that community works both ways.
Any donation, share, or kind message means more than we can express. Your support will help us focus on healing, stability, and rebuilding after this accident, instead of worrying about how we’ll make it through the weeks ahead.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, for your kindness, and for standing with us during this difficult chapter.
With gratitude,
Jordon & Jocelan
