Time to be honest with myself (and you, dear reader), I’m in a pickle… and though God made me strong enough to take care of myself, some unexpected things have caused me to panic. I’ve had a lot of pain in my neck and low back since August 16th when I got hit by a big truck that ran a red light. I’ve been making it through work with PT exercises and pain medicine, but it was a production job and my work slowed down a lot and I don’t think they liked having to make special accommodations, so unfortunately, I got laid off the week of Christmas. Seriously, you can’t make this stuff up, and I’m climbing over my pride to ask for you guys to help me. I’d much rather be on the giving end with about a million dollars to hand out in a poor neighborhood ❤️
If you are interested, I am a 51-year-old child of God who used to nurse for a living. I ended up with an alcohol and drug problem (not unusual in our field, as we see too much sadness).
I did get better thanks to public programs, but not unlike Job, I lost my family along the way. These things are slowly coming back. I have a sweet mother and a darling partner who help hold me up. They do need me too though, and I’m too hurt right now to hold my financial end up. My broken ribs have healed, thank God (that hurts more than I ever imagined). Yesterday I had a procedure done to block the pain in my neck (C5,6 disc protrusion causing the vertebrae to hit directly on the nerve root). I am scheduled for another pain block in two weeks for the damage in my lumbar region (foraminal stenosis), and then my hope is that I’ll be brand new. We had a good Christmas and I bought presents for everyone I needed to, hoping it will help heal some relationships broken during the drug use (I have two great kids that got hurt by me, to be honest), and an almost two-year-old granddaughter that I want to know.
If my honesty moves you, or you’ve also been there… could you give a little bit? I’ve climbed back up a little, and it’s taking this to keep my handhold. I do have a representative regarding medical payment for injuries, but I’m told that the insurance companies like to keep these trials open for years. I have monthly bills I must pay now and I’ve been turned down for disability three times.
I know our country is getting better with every person who faces tragedy, and I WILL pay it forward and get back on my feet to a new job. Thank you in advance, much love.
P.S. I have filed for unemployment, nothing yet, but be in prayer for that if you can’t give. I’ve given a dollar or two before when it’s all I had. It counts! Believe me.
