Standing Strong with Our Dad Through Cancer

Hi Everyone,

As many of you know, our dad was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma with an unknown primary this past April. Since then, our family has been navigating countless appointments at DHMC, searching for answers and a treatment plan. Unfortunately, because the primary site remains unknown, treatment has not yet started. What we do know is that once it begins, he will undergo an intense 7-week treatment of radiation (5 days a week) and weekly chemotherapy, all taking place in St. Johnsbury. This means a 90-minute drive each way, every single day.

Our dad is the strongest man we know. He’s a hardworking, well-known self-employed contractor who has always taken pride in providing for his family and providing his clients with high-quality work. Sadly, the tumor on his lymph node has already begun to take a toll on his body. For someone so independent and driven, this has been incredibly hard.

We are asking for donations to support our parents during this journey. The most important thing is for our dad to stay mentally and emotionally strong throughout his treatment, and the last thing he should have to worry about is finances. Donations will go directly to our parents to help with travel expenses, lodging, and general support, especially as working may not be possible for him for quite some time.

Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference in helping to lift the burden off their shoulders so our dad can focus on healing. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and prayers during this difficult time.
