If you know Dave Darling, you know he’s one of the world’s nicest guys. He’ll do anything for anyone and never asks for help himself—but right now he needs us.

Dave lost his job in April after a career with Lunds and Byerlys. Since then he has had a myriad of health problems. Beginning in June, Dave has had four major surgeries—stents placed, stents removed, his gallbladder removed, and then due to additional complications, he had stents placed once again! When we finally thought he could start to recover from all of this, doctors informed him of a cancerous mass that was found near his small intestine. On October 6th, Dave is scheduled for a long and difficult surgery to remove the mass. He will be in the hospital for two weeks and following the surgery he will find out if he’ll need chemo, radiation, or both.

While he has been trying to heal, Dave has also been actively interviewing for jobs but he hasn’t landed one yet (he is continuously being told he is overqualified!). So! With no steady income and his savings nearly gone, the stress of finances is heavy on top of everything else he’s facing.

Dave has a long road ahead, but anyone who knows him knows how strong and determined he is. We’re hoping to ease some of his financial worry so he can put all his energy into healing and fighting cancer.
