On December of 2017, SeAndra received the news that she was diagnosed with a form of breast cancer called DICS (Ductal carcinoma in situ means that the cells that line the milk ducts of the breast, have become cancer, but they have not spread into surrounding breast tissue, considered non-invasive or pre-invasive breast cancer.) This means no chemotherapy or radiations.
Everyday women would be diagnosed with this breast cancer in the U.S. SeAndra’s cancer were seen by the best care teams at Texas Oncology Center and breast specialist. She was originally informed to have Stage 0 Breast cancer on her left. SeAndra underwent a bilateral mastectomy with immediate DIEP Flaps of both breasts on April of 2018.
Unfortunately, the pathology results came back about her lymph nodes biopsies and found three of them has been tested positive of invasive cancers. Which turned into stage 1 of ILC (Invasive Lobular Carcinoma). This is an aggressive growing cancer (diagnosis ER+, PR+ and HER2+ which is now a Triple Positive that divides 50% times.) With that said, the decision about her treatments changed in the blink of our eyes. SeAndra now have to undergo six round of chemotherapy every 21 days with a port starting next month of June 11th, which is her 13th wedding anniversary.
This is the heaviest news I have ever been hit with about my wife’s cancer. The impact on our familiy and friends who truly loves my wife were shocked and hurt. It’s mind blowing where we all come together, and faced this journey knowing SeAndra will not go at it alone. None of us knows what lies ahead of us, but FAITH in our God keeps us going.
SeAndra is still healing from the surgery and still has a long road ahead of her. It hurts to see her suffer with pain and the effects that come with it. She will continue to visit the breast specialist to receive future surgery to finish the reconstruction of her breasts, and will also continue another treatment after the first chemotherapy. With doctors bills, hospital bills, household bills, we are now learning that chemotherapy treatments are adding up!! However, it is very expensive and we truly need your help. If you are interested in helping with the cost, bills, medicines or anything you have to offer, it would be greatly appreciated.
Lastly, in advance we want to express our appreciation for you all. Thank you for your prayers, support, the time, concerns and donations.
