Standing Strong: Jeramyh's DIPG Battle Fund
Donation protected
As I share this story, my heart aches for my cousin and her oldest son, Jeramyh LeeShawn Williams, who is courageously fighting the hardest battle of his young life. As a single mother of four with the newest being just 8 months old, Tiana has shown strength and resilience that is nothing short of remarkable.
The world turned silent for our family on December 4th, 2023, as we anxiously awaited for any glimmer of hope amid the unexplained health struggles Jeramyh faced. Despite numerous scans and visits to the ER, the devastating truth unfolded - a mass in his brain that demanded further testing for an accurate diagnosis. Faced with urgency, my cousin embarked on the first of many four-hour journeys to St. Jude's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Following additional scans and a biopsy the diagnosis was confirmed - Jeramyh battles a rare, inoperable form of brain cancer known as DIPG. The unimaginable reality struck: how could such a cruel disease fall upon our family? In society we often witness and hear about such trials and tribulations, but never did we imagine it would touch our lives so intimately.
It has been a month and a half since we received this heart-wrenching news. Despite the daily rigors of radiation treatment, Jeramyh wakes up each day with a resilient smile, bravely fighting for another tomorrow. One thing is certainly clear- Jeramyh's motivation to fight another day is because of his incredible mom. As his time at St. Jude's draws to a close, my cousin is confronted with daunting decision and hardships. Growing up a momma's boy myself I can contest that I have always viewed my mom as superwoman.
From the birth of child it is a mother's mission in life to ensure the safety and well-being of her children, and even though they are all superwomen they sometimes neglect to acknowledge that help is there when needed.
It is my hope that by sharing this story, together, we can show mothers like Tiana that there is help and that by extending our unwavering support it can help lighten the heavy burdens Jeramyh faces. Every ounce of compassion and every contribution, no matter how small, makes a significant impact on their journey to find any sign of a cure. Our collective strength and love can make a difference in this challenging chapter of their lives.
With heartfelt gratitude for your support,
