Standing Strong for Randy Peterson
Donation protected
On April 13th 2020 our world got turned upside down.
Our Father, Randy Peterson; Husband of over 30 years, Father to 4 and Grandfather to 6. The man we all love, learned from, and have grown to depend on woke up and couldn't speak. Fearing a stroke he was rushed to the ER. Because of COVID-19 he was taken, tested and isolated. Due to hospital protocol, he was being treated as if he had the Corona virus, until his test results came back. Even then, none of our family members were allowed visitation.
There were many tests, and the conclusion was, there was a mass on his brain, near the part that controls speech. He then was transferred to a different hospital and was awaiting his consult for neurosurgery.
We were very blessed and got one of the best neurosurgeons to take his case. The Doctor immediately recommended we remove the tumor and not only that, Randy had to be awake for a portion of the surgery. This was so they could be as aggressive as possible with the tumor.
We were all very anxious, we tried to facetime with him as much as possible. We even tried to have the hospital administration make an exception for us to visit our Dad before surgery.
The only option we had was to trust the medical staff and put our faith in God.
The surgery was successful and the tumor was removed!! We thought we were in the clear.
On April 27th he went to a follow up appointment. It is a Glioblastoma. We all were shocked and blind sided. What this means is; it is terminal, stage 4 brain cancer. The statistics aren't very good, but our Dad has made the choice to fight.
He started chemo pills daily and radiation Monday-Friday for 6 weeks. Then they will re-assess and move forward with his treatment plan.
Since his line of work is so physically demanding (General Contractor) he is no longer able to work. His company that is family run and operated is at a complete standstill.
Medical and household bills are starting to stack up. We are trying to buy some time and allow our parents to spend what time they have together and not any added stress.
We want to thank you in advance for your love, support and encouragement through this difficult time.
Any and all donations are going directly to Randy and Jill Peterson. We appreciate your donation and humbly ask for you to keep our family in your prayers!
