Standing Strong Against Liver Disease

As a mother, nothing is more important to me than the health and well-being of my children. That's why it's been so heart-wrenching to watch my two sons, Louie and Lemuel, battle with liver disease.

Louie and Lemuel have always been such bright lights in my life. Despite their congenital defects, Louie with mild cerebral palsy which affects his balance and Lemuel, born with congenital hypothyroidism, they have never let this affect them and continued to live a healthy and normal life.

However, last November, we noticed that Louie's abdomen was growing larger. We didn't think much of it at first, but by January, he had become extremely pale, and we knew that something was seriously wrong. After countless tests and consultations, the doctors confirmed our worst fears - Louie had liver cirrhosis and needed a liver transplant to have any chance of survival.

We were all devastated by the news, but we knew that we had to be strong for Louie. We started doing everything we could to find a donor and cover the cost of his medical expenses, but just two months later, we received even more devastating news - Lemuel had also been diagnosed with the same condition.

As a mother, it's been overwhelming to try and deal with the emotional and financial burden of having two sons with such a serious illness. The cost of their medical expenses, including the liver transplants, medications, and hospital bills, is astronomical, and we simply cannot afford it on our own.
