Standing in the gap for Sophie James Denning

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,

To know the Denning Family is to love them. Now is a time we can demonstrate our love through practical ways. As many of you know, Dustin and Carolyn welcomed precious, Sophie James on December 30th at 5:52am. Her birth was marked by her not breathing and the need for immediate transfer to Vanderbilt Children’s NICU where she remains. She is receiving incredible care with experts, what a gift to have access to this.

The critical nature of NICU care is extremely costly, and as the Denning’s do not have traditional insurance but rather a Christian Health-share the bills will surmount the covered portion. To bless them and remove any financial strain we are asking for donations to cover medical bills and support them with basic needs during this time.

As of January 2nd, Sophie is off the ventilator and being rewarmed after three days of induced hypothermia to protect her brain and body. She will undergo further testing in the days to come and we are believing in full faith for complete healing and restoration. Psalm 91 has been such a precious promise of protection and comfort to Dustin and Carolyn as they stand in faith for Sophie. James being her middle name comes from James 1:2-4 “ Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” What a fitting verse.

Being able to support the Dennings during this time is a precious gift as they are the most generous family in their love, service, and care for others. We boldly ask for your prayer not only for Sophie but for Dustin and Carolyn to have grace, strength, and supernatural rest during this time. Also, for big sisters, Levy and Josie to be loved and comforted by Jesus as they navigate being away from mom and dad for long periods. May they know how precious they are and be comforted in ways their little hearts need as they process difficult emotions.

How You Can Help:

Financial Contributions: This fundraising page has been set up to assist with medical bills, meals, and childcare needs during this time. Any amount, no matter how small, will ease the burden on the Dustin and Carolyn allowing them to focus on being with their Sophie and other girls during this time.

Prayers: Your prayers, and encouragement through words or scripture are invaluable. Please keep baby Sophie, her parents, and her entire family in your prayers during this critical time.

Sharing the Word: If you are able, please share with your own circles—whether through social media, email, or word of mouth—so that more people can join in offering support.
The Denning family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love they’ve already received. Every message, prayer, and donation mean more than words can express. With your help, we can provide them with the strength they need to stay focused on what matters most—Sophie’s complete healing and recovery.

Thank you for your generosity, love, and support during this critical time.

With heartfelt thanks,
