Standing by the Triana Family in Their Time of Need
Donation protected
In December 2020, one of my best friend’s moms was diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer. Leonardo Triana has been a very close friend over the years—I’ve known him and his family for over a decade, and I’ve witnessed the struggles they have endured since his mom’s diagnosis.
In an effort to slow the spread of cancer, she has undergone extensive medical and alternative treatments, both in Canada and Colombia. These have included three rounds of chemotherapy, a hysterectomy, IV therapies and certain medications which were not covered. Sadly, none of these attempts have been successful at keeping the cancer at bay.
Between frequent hospital visits, medication management, and providing daily care, her husband and primary caregiver has been unable to work regularly. On top of medical costs and travel expenses to Colombia, the family has taken on substantial debt to support her in her battle against cancer. The financial strain has been building over time, and now, they’re facing growing bills just to cover everyday necessities like food, housing, and utilities.
Despite all efforts and exhausting every medical option, the cancer has unfortunately metastasized and continues to spread. Doctors have now shifted their focus to keeping her comfortable and managing her pain. The family wants to spend as much time together as possible without the added stress of financial hardship.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference. And if you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this page would mean the world.
Thank you for your kindness, love, and support. It means more than words can say.
