I am a nurse who recently arrived in the United States just three months ago, just started to build my American dream but the biggest tragedy happened.
As a nurse, I have cared for many patients in their most critical moments, but nothing could have prepared me for watching my own father receive CPR performed by my nephew in the video call. In that moment, I felt completely helpless. It was the most heartbreaking experience of my life, and I immediately took a flight back home.
Due to the difficulty in accessing timely and adequate medical support, my father suffered a brain injury due cardiopulmonary arrest and is now in critical condition. He is currently dependent on a mechanical ventilator, receiving inotropic support, and undergoing hemodialysis. Every day is a battle, and our family continues to hold on to hope and prayer as we remain by his side.
The financial burden has become overwhelming. His hospital expenses range from ₱100,000 to ₱150,000 per day (approximately USD $1,800–$2,700 daily), which includes the ICU stay, medications, mechanical ventilator and oxygen rental, dialysis treatments, doctors’ fees, and other essential medical supplies. Despite our best efforts, these costs continue to rise far beyond what our family can afford.
My father is a kind, loving, and selfless man who has always put his family first. Seeing him in this condition is heartbreaking, but I am determined to do everything I can to give him a chance to continue living.
With a humble heart, I am reaching out to ask for any financial assistance you may be able to provide. Every share and prayer—no matter where you are in the world—means more to us than words can express. Your kindness will help us continue his life-sustaining treatment and keep hope alive during this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story and for any support you are able to give.
