The Challenge Ahead
Melissa recently faced a very sudden major medical emergency that required significant surgery. While we respect her privacy regarding the specific details, the reality is that she now faces an extended recovery and will be unable to work for the foreseeable future. I spoke with Melissa this morning, and she is back in the hospital with additional complications. This will extend her healing time and her inability to work. Melissa has spent her life carrying others through their hardest moments; now, she is facing a season where she needs the same support she has so selflessly given to others.
Who is Melissa?
It is incredibly rare to meet someone who not only does their job but truly lives their calling. Melissa is that person. Whether she's responding to high-pressure calls with Northwestern Ambulance, serving on the front lines with the Cushing Fire Department, or teaching life-saving skills as a CPR instructor, she shows up with a level of dedication that is nothing short of extraordinary. Melissa gives without hesitation—she is the first to step up and the last to leave. Her sacrifice, compassion, and unwavering commitment have made our community safer and everyone around her better.
How Your Support Helps
Melissa is now facing a season where she needs the same support she has so selflessly given to others. While she has some insurance, this will only cover a fraction of the financial burden ahead. Daily living expenses, mounting medical bills, travel for care, and necessary medications are quickly adding up. If you are able to help, please know that any donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference. Your support will help ease the weight on someone who has spent her life carrying others through their hardest moments. Now, it's our turn to stand beside her and remind her that she is not alone.
