Standing by Doug & Dianna in Their Time of Need

Our parents, Douglas and Dianna Alford, have always been the kind of people who give selflessly—whether it’s their last dollar, their time, or their love. They’ve spent their lives helping others, never asking for anything in return. Now, they are the ones who need support.

This past year has brought overwhelming challenges. Doug had a hospital stay earlier in the year that forced him to stop working, and unfortunately, he is now unable to return to work. Then, just this week, what was thought to be a simple viral bug ended with Doug being hospitalized in Pittsburgh—where we received the devastating news that he has AML leukemia.

At the same time, Dianna has been dealing with ongoing medical issues of her own that affect her daily life and ability to comfortably work, and to care for Doug and herself. The combination of their health struggles has placed an enormous emotional and financial strain on them.

As their children, we are doing everything we can to support them, but we’ve realized we need help. Funds raised will go directly toward medical expenses, household bills, and making major necessary home improvements to create a more accessible and comfortable and most off SAFE environment for them both.
