Thank you for visiting the GoFundMe page for Nathalie and the Suero Family.
I never imagined I’d be writing this as a mother. Two weeks ago, our seventeen-year-old daughter, Nathalie, started her second semester of senior year at Seminole Ridge High School, playing at volleyball tournaments with her travel team and preparing for a TV production competition in California. She is a happy, kind and determined young lady. She is always with the brightest smile that lights up a room and is in good spirits. This week, that all suddenly changed when she was hit with a volleyball during her team practice. After practice, she began vomiting, had blurry vision, and passed out in the bathroom; we rushed her to the ER.
At Palms West, they did a CT Scan, and after getting concerning results, she was flown to Nicklaus Children's Hospital via trauma hawk. What we thought was a concussion became our biggest nightmare: neurosurgeons found a brain tumor on her right frontal lobe.
She now requires further specialized tests, surgery, psychological and physical therapy as part of her treatments. Nathalie also has an extensive medical history, including a bleeding disorder named Von Willebrand disease. Her condition makes surgery more challenging.
Since the diagnosis, this situation has been a rollercoaster, in which a lot of things have changed drastically. With the prayers, love and support of our friends and family, we hope you can help Nathalie with the challenges that lie ahead.
Any assistance you can provide during this difficult time will be greatly appreciated and will go fully to Nathalie's treatments, medical expenses and recovery.
