Dearest family, friends, strangers and everyone in between,
the light of so many of our lives, Kristin Rothfuss Erbst, passed peacefully on Monday of this week.
I am at a loss for words simply because they do not do justice to the kind of human she was. I am at a loss for words because they can only paint a dull picture of the impact she had on so many lives, so many souls, so many hearts. Kristin was a remarkable human being who offered so much of herself to the world and I am so very grateful for every moment spent in her presence. The truth is, in the very instant I met her, my heart fell head-over-heels in love. Kristin's magnetic personality engulfed me and all I ever wanted was to be nearby. I know that my experience is not unique. She was just THAT kind of extraordinary human to draw us all in her aura of love, of joy and laughter, sunshine, yellow hats and even yellower dresses.
Thank you once again for all the prayers, the celestial deliveries of love, the emotional, spiritual and yes, financial support! Much love to all.
Kristin's Celebration of Life will be held on October 20, 2019 at 3:30pm.

Those of us who have been touched by Kristin’s remarkable spirit, whether through her singing or teaching or friendship, know the fierceness of her love of life and of her family. Since her cancer diagnosis 3 years ago, she has been dealing with unimaginable pain on a daily basis; it would be unbearable for most. Somehow, Kristin’s extraordinary spirit and strength have allowed her to remain the light and joy she truly is, she’s always been, and she’ll always be.
A difficult decision was made to discontinue chemotherapy because it was not increasing her quality of life, nor extending her time with us. She could now take a rest from the side effects of the chemo and be more present in her life and with her family. As of this week, Kristin is in the care of a hospice team whose goal is to help with pain and ease her suffering.
I put myself in my dear friend’s shoes all the time and feel nauseous, paralyzed with fear and choked up with immense sadness. What would I want?! What would ease my mind? Immediately... I know. I’d want my husband and child to be well, to be happy, to be taken care of. I’d want my husband and child to be unburdened from the financial devastation this journey has caused.

*******Two years post diagnosis, terminally ill patients have spent their life savings. This reality is no way to be, to live or to heal. Kristin, Bob and Julia have done the impossible already and have stood in the face of so many blows together and in love. Their spirits need a break, their resources need replenishment - this is where WE come in. The truth is, medical expenses have piled up while Kristin has let go of many of her voice teaching hours. Hospital bed at home, frequent runs to the ER, bouts of excruciating pain ... depression - and yet Kristin continues with more therapies and more zest to live.
