Stand with Zakia: Tragic Loss of Her Son

Hello, I am Zakia Brice, the mother of Ethan David Israel Parker, the 12-year-old who was tragically murdered on Saturday, May 10, 2025, in Philadelphia. This has been a living nightmare for my family and me. This intentional killing has literally changed our lives in every way possible. As a single mother, I have always worked to provide for my children, and the day in question was no different. This tragedy has turned our lives upside down, and now with limited resources, we are faced with not only laying my son to rest but also just our everyday living expenses. We humbly appreciate any and all help you can give us at this time, not limited to prayer for our mental and emotional strength during this difficult time, as we try to figure out our new lives without Ethan. This is simply hard, and I wouldn’t wish this on anyone, not even an enemy. I am trusting God, which is all I know at this time.
