Support Yahir’s Battle Against AML - Bone Marrow Cancer

Those who know Yahir, know him as someone who is not afraid to follow his dreams and work hard to achieve them. Despite only being his 30’s, life seemed to be going as planned; He married his high school sweetheart Abdsara in 2020 and then welcomed their baby girl Yahsari in 2022. His business Something Else Co was doing good and their future seemed so bright. In the fall of 2023 things took a turn for the worse when Yahir began feeling sick and ended up in the ER on several occasions due to RSV, high fevers and other flu-like symptoms. It was in November the day after thanksgiving that he returned to the ER after noticing that his cheeks were the size of mini golf balls. He was immediately admitted into the hospital and after several tests, he was given the devastating news that he had “MDS”Myelodysplastic Syndrome which then develop in “AML” Acute myeloid leukemia.

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a cancer that starts in stem cells of the blood.

Since his diagnosis, Yahir and his wife have been coping with the diagnosis and fighting this battle in silence. Yahir, with almost no immune system has been in the hospital receiving blood transfusions, chemotherapy and just recently a bone marrow transplant. To protect him from germs, he has been isolated from family, including his baby girl Yahsari. This also has affected them financially. Friends and family have offered to help with bills but they felt that everyone has their own struggles and figured that they would pull through on their own.

Unfortunately, time has passed and they realize that this is not a short-term battle and as time passes by their financial struggles have only worsened. Doctors predict that this fight can take a year or two. This raises concerns on how they will pay for all the medical expenses as well as their personal bills. Yahir’s car wrapping business is currently not providing any services since Yahir is unable to work. He has always been a one-man shop and did most the wrapping for clients on his own. This is truly a difficult time for this young family. We pray that Yahir’s health improves and know that in order for that to happen his focus should only be on fighting and beating this cancer.
