Stand with Willie: Aid His Recovery
Doação protegida
I am Mike Hansen, President of Amvet Riders Post 88.
Together with Amvets Riders Posts 18 and 48 Presidents Patrick Smith, Gary Davis, and a wonderful, caring committee, we are joining in on an effort to raise as much funds as possible to help our dear friend and brother, William “Willie” Diaz, with his road to recovery from a tragic motorcycle accident back in October. This accident took place on the Meadowbrook Parkway while he was heading home alone.
Unfortunately, Willie took a bad hit, which left him with spinal injuries that left him somewhat paralyzed. He has been in hospitals and rehabs since.
At this time, insurance is running out due to the length of time it’s taking to (God willing) get Willie back on his feet.
The driver that hit Willie was underinsured to boot.
We will be doing a fundraiser at Post 18 in East Islip on Sunday, January 26th, and would love to bring to the table a nice amount raised from GoFundMe to add to all the wonderful people that have stepped up with generous donations.
As I mentioned, the money raised from this will go directly to Willie and his family to keep him in the rehab in Glen Cove as long as necessary.
We will also use the funds to make Willie’s house handicap accessible.
So please, help if you can to get this terrific young man home and on his feet.
