I’m raising money for my friend Vova, a 23-year-old Ukrainian who is currently being detained by ICE while seeking asylum in the U.S. Vova is one of the quietest, kindest people I know. He loves bow hunting, jiu-jitsu, aviation, and cars, and he’s the kind of guy who keeps his head down, works hard, and doesn’t ask for much.
Vova came home with me for Thanksgiving this year, and having him with my family was an amazing experience. It made me realize how much he’s built a life for himself here, despite being so far from home. His mother and brother are in Poland, and at 23, he is essentially on his own here in the United States.
While traveling to Los Angeles, Vova was recently detained by ICE. He is now being held in a detention facility, sleeping in a large cell with other detainees and facing an immigration hearing on October 1st. We have found him an attorney but costs are quickly adding up.
Every dollar raised will go toward his legal representation and related expenses so he can have support for his case. Vova is my friend, and right now he needs people in his corner. If you can donate, thank you. If you can’t, sharing this with someone who might be able to help would mean a lot to both of us. Thank you.
